Position Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented part-time Lab Operations Assistant (contract) to join our team 3 days a week. We're looking for an individual who will assist our team in day-to-day lab operations. The successful candidate will be organized and comfortable working in an entrepreneurial laboratory setting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Receiving and organizing packages on a routine basis
- Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment by emptying biohazard bins, running autoclave and dishwashers in the lab
- Disposing of waste materials safely and according to regulations
- Running autoclave
- Washing pots and plasticware, and running dishwashers in the lab
- Restocking inventory including consumables, lab supplies, and reagents
- Ensuring proper storage and labeling of chemicals and reagents
Required skills and qualifications:
- Experience in laboratory operations
- Team player mentality
- Knowledge of regulations concerning biohazard facilities and biological and chemical materials handling
- Reliability and ability to work on-site 3 days a week
- Enthusiasm for lab safety and adherence to quality control standards is a plus
