Position Overview:
The Senior Director, Oncology Research will lead ProFound Therapeutics' oncology research programs, driving strategic initiatives and leading a team of world-class scientists to develop innovative cancer therapies. You will play an integral role in shaping our research strategy, advancing our oncology pipeline, and translating scientific discoveries into clinical applications. This position requires a deep understanding of oncology, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record of success in pharmaceutical or biotech research environments.

Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and implement the overall scientific vision and strategy for oncology research at ProFound Therapeutics.
- Identify, evaluate, and integrate emerging scientific trends and technologies in cancer research to drive innovation.
- Foster a culture of scientific excellence, collaboration, and innovation within the research team.
- Research Management:
- Lead, mentor, and inspire our team of highly skilled researchers, ensuring the successful execution of research projects.
- Oversee the design and execution of preclinical and translational research studies, ensuring scientific rigor and adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including clinical development, regulatory affairs, and business development, to align research objectives with company goals.
- Partnerships and Collaboration:
- Establish and maintain relationships with key academic institutions, research organizations, and industry partners to foster collaboration and enhance the company's research capabilities.
- Represent ProFound Therapeutics at scientific conferences, industry meetings, and with external stakeholders.
- Innovation and Intellectual Property:
- Drive innovation by identifying novel therapeutic targets, developing new methodologies, and advancing the understanding of cancer biology.
- Oversee the protection of intellectual property generated from research activities, including the preparation and filing of patent applications.
- Regulatory and Ethical Compliance:
- Ensure that all research activities are conducted in compliance with relevant regulatory guidelines and ethical standards.
- Maintain a high standard of data integrity, accuracy, and quality in all research outputs.
- Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree in oncology, molecular biology, cancer biology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in oncology research within the biotech, pharmaceutical, or academic sectors, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of scientific innovation and successful project leadership, including the advancement of therapeutic candidates from discovery through early clinical development.
- Strong publication record in high-impact scientific journals.
- In-depth understanding of cancer biology, molecular pathways, and therapeutic modalities, with an emphasis on biologics, and immunotherapies., like ADC's and/or T-cell engagers.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a diverse team of scientists.
- Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex scientific concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with regulatory requirements and guidelines for preclinical and clinical research.
