Position Title: Camp Iwannago Special Education/1:1 Aide (Multiple Positions)
Department/Section: FACTS Program/ District Wide
Supervisor: FACTS Coordinator/Camp Iwannago Supervisors
Hourly Rate: $18.50 - $19.25/hour, depending on experience
Pay Grade: 31
Schedule: 40 hours/week (non-benefited, temporary employment)
Summary Of Function
This position is for highly motivated and hard working people who are passionate about working with children with special needs. You would be responsible for providing positive supervision and interactions with students during the Camp Iwannago Summer hours (shifts range in blocks from 6:45 AM-6:00 PM, Monday-Friday). You will assist in adapting daily enrichment clubs and activities for students. You will actively engage students in positive character development. A Camp Iwannago team member is excited to enrich students' lives on a personal and professional level. Typical Tasks
- Model at all times positive personal character.
- Take responsibility for the safety of the students in Camp Iwannago.
- Regularly discuss positive character development with students as part of the Camp Iwannago character development plan.
- Adapt activities when the assigned student(s) is unable to participate.
- Help include the student in grade level activities to the fullest extent possible.
- Actively engage with student(s) during play and enrichment activities.
- Utilize positive reinforcement techniques.
- Maintain accurate rosters of students in attendance.
- Prepare and distribute pre-packaged snacks.
- Be supportive of other team members.
- Be responsible for ensuring the quality and condition of all supplies, equipment and materials used by the Camp Iwannago Program.
- Follow all Department of Health Services and Department of Economic Security regulations and FUSD policies and guidelines.
- Provide support for individual student(s) to enable them to fully participate in activities.
- Support students with emotional or behavioral concerns and assist them in developing appropriate social skills.
- Some assignments may require assistance with activities of daily living, including eating/feeding, grooming, dressing, use of assistive/devices, mobility, toileting, transfers and posting. Individuals not interested in these assignments need to discuss at time of interview.
- Arrive at work prepared at the start of your work shift.
- Perform other duties as assigned
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications
- Able to consistently demonstrate positive personal character.
- Ability to stay calm and positive in stressful situations.
- Ability to complete essential duties at a high level.
- Ability to work the daily hours assigned by the Camp Iwannago Program.
- High school graduate or equivalent certification required.
- Higher education is preferred, but not required.
- Must be 18 years of age.

- Negative Mantoux TB test
- Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card (IVP Clearance to remain valid for duration of employment)
- DCS 1083C Background check confirming there are no substantiated cases of child abuse or neglect
- Enrollment and training done in the AZWorkforce Registry in first 90 days of employment should the position be offered/extend beyond the initial camp dates.
