Position Summary

Lead the design, installation, and connectivity of computer systems; network infrastructure; end user support and productivity applications to ensure efficient and stable operation.  Develop, configure, maintain, support, and optimize all new and existing network hardware, software, communication links, data center, security systems, telephony, and help desk/service desk functions.  Drive the design and implementation of information security for the Company to ensure accountability, integrity, and availability of corporate and personal data. 

Essential Functions

• Manage and ensure optimal availability and operation of all network systems (routers, switches, wireless, SD-WAN, etc.); security solutions (SIEM, firewalls, internal/external vulnerability scanning, anti-virus solutions, intrusion detection systems, etc.). 
• Oversee the SLA’s, on-going relationship and reporting around the end user help desk and service function through vendor relationship. 
• Work with external Security Assessor’s to conduct annual security and compliance audits to ensure all levels of identified assessments meet established requirements and have been validated, documented, and filed as prescribed.  
• Manage and ensure optimal availability and operation of Telephony design and infrastructure primarily through partners. 
• Develop, implement, and maintain company technology policies (network, telephony, data protection) policies and procedures. 
• Own network and software asset management and life cycle planning. 
• Carry out the installation and implementation of network/security projects to ensure the environment remains up-to-date and sustainable. 
• Provide project leadership for both Information Technology (IT) and business initiatives requiring network/security infrastructure and services. Define and implement appropriate requirements for projects. 
• Work with Supervisor to develop, maintain and update systems auditing procedures to protect data integrity, security, and reliability. 
• Support and work with internal business partners and vendors to evaluate needs to recommend and implement solutions, including budget planning and purchasing. 
• Work closely with team members to ensure that all customers receive the highest level of customer service possible by using best practices and educated judgment to implement sound solutions or device configurations. 
• Supervise and manage employees as it relates to all projects or related work, establish performance requirements, clarify responsibilities of those supervised, conduct performance appraisals and plans for individual employee development. 
• Keep supervisor informed of important developments, potential problems, and related information necessary for effective management. Coordinate and communicate plans and activities with others, as appropriate to ensure a coordinated work effort and team approach. 
• Oversee all Data Center Operations (mainly through vendors) ensuring all data center support functions are properly provided through vendor relationships and all SLA’s are met. 
• Act as Infrastructure Architect. 
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications (Education/Experience)

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Advanced training in computer networks is preferred. 
• 7-10 years’ network experience managing, configuring and trouble-shooting enterprise-wide LANs, WANs, and VPNs. 
• 7-10 years’ experience managing operational IT security requirements to ensure information assets are adequately protected which includes physical security, vulnerability management, threat detection, asset inventory, security awareness training, compliance, etc. 
• 2-3 years’ experience managing and developing others. 
• Proven project management skills. Certification a plus. 
• Understanding of ITIL and IT Best Practices. 
• Excellent knowledge of current protocols and standards, including Active Directory, Group Policies, Core Switching/Routing, SAN, SD-WAN; Virtualization, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, Cloud Computing. 
• Experience installing network cabling and telephony systems. 
• Demonstrated ability to keep up to date on new software/hardware technology and other advancements. 
• Understanding and experience with encryption systems, vulnerability assessment tools/applications, computer/network forensics, and incident response planning (IRP). 
• Experience with SOX requirements preferred; security or PCI certifications are a plus. 
• Knowledge of Microsoft server operating systems and Microsoft SQL server preferred. 
• Proven vendor management experience. 
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, within all levels of the Company. 
• Must have a strong customer service orientation and the ability to work with individuals and teams in various organizational relationships.

FLSA Designation: This position is a Salaried Exempt and not eligible for overtime.

Work Location: Minneapolis, MN – travel expected less than 20%
