Position Summary
Execute production schedules at rated throughput to meet quality, safety, cost, and delivery standards.
Essential Functions
- Execute the daily production schedule in all production areas as a process owner, including minimizing downtime and seamless shift turnover.
- Manage all process/operational checks.
- Manage the finished product and traceability system in production areas.
- Complete all necessary paperwork to company standards.
- Adhere to the allergen control program guidelines, including equipment cleaning and verification activities.
- Take corrective action as assigned by the Supervisor based on pre-operation and daily self-assessment audit findings.
- Utilize the performance measurement system for direction in areas of employee safety, food safety, quality, cost, and productivity.
- Take actions necessary to resolve food safety and quality deficiencies. Comply with all food safety requirements, training, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain safe working conditions and preserve the integrity of the environmental health and safety system through adherence to the policies and procedures outlined in the safety program.
- Participate in mandatory training program requirements.
- Serve as backup for all Operators in all production areas, as necessary.
- Accurately complete a centerline by SKU and effectively use a centerline document to set-up the equipment.
- Understand what parameters should be captured and the tolerance threshold and what to do when out of range.
- Identify correct forming tube needed for bag size.
- Set up the line efficiently and begin production at scheduled time with minimal adjustments needed to reach optimal rate and uptime.
- Complete changeovers within the scheduled time while giving directions to the team on what tasks to perform during changeover.
- Must be able to effectively set up/changeover line to include properly loading film, set up date code & checkweigher, set nitrogen flush.
- Monitor product integrity such as weight, package defects, etc.
- Must be able to troubleshoot and adjust equipment issues such as seal leaks, incorrect date codes, faulty seals, etc.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications (Education/Experience)
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of production procedures.
- 3 years of production experience in food manufacturing desired.
- Advanced machine operator experience.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with peers and leadership.
- Ability to work cross-functionally, convey equipment issues, and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to think quickly and handle frequent changes.
- Detail oriented with the ability to organize and multitask.
- Self-motivated, goal oriented, quality driven, and capable of working independently with little supervision.
- Willingness to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays based on business need.
