POSITION: Supply Planning Manager
REPORTS TO: Director, Supply Network Planning
Position Summary
The Supply Planning Manager is responsible for all activities related to production scheduling, supply planning to finished good delivery from demand plan. This person is responsible for working cross functionally with local and remote Operations team driving planning and order fulfillment.
Essential Functions
- Create a 13-week rolling Production Plan—utilizing actual production requirements and available capacity, jobs in estimating, and insights from leadership on new business opportunities. Continuously analyze and mitigate risks associated with material lead times, customers, and internal teams’ ability to meet project deadlines.
- Leading and coordinating with Plant Schedulers activities, providing working plans for each site including rough-cut capacity plan (monthly) and developing the weekly schedule.
- Maintains and communicates a weekly master production schedule, works directly with Plant Schedulers to create weekly Plant Schedules.
- Responsible for leading the planning organization in forecasting needs, analyzing movement patterns, product deployment, performance reporting, and inventory management.
- Collaborate with top-level leadership to review current forecasts and provide areas where there are opportunities to utilize open capacity.
- Participate in the monthly SI&OP process to review performance against schedule, inventory strategy, supply plan to meet demand, and resource implications. Identify gaps and drive solutions on production performance relative to the requested production schedule.
- Tracks and reports to leadership KPIs such as adherence and attainment, hours planned vs. actual required by functional groups within targets.
- Ensure compliance with established procedures and maintain effective internal control over the physical product flow and accounting of inventory levels in both Plant and DC operations.
- Working closely with Sales & Marketing, R&D, Operations, Finance, Procurement, FSQA and other groups to support product launches and other business initiatives.
- Collaborate with Demand planning to ensure lead time and resource capacity requirements are considered.
- Establish and maintain safety stock and inventory balances appropriate to meet production requirements but at lowest feasible levels.
- Monitor of excess, obsolete, and slow-moving inventories and coordination of shelf-life extension with relevant FSQA department and warehouse personnel.
- Identify and communicate real or potential capacity and material supply chain issues.
- Ensure all planning parameters and key assumptions are reviewed and updated regularly.
- Review/monitors execution to plan and assure available inventory is located appropriately.
- Coordinate activities and workflow (Finished Goods and Raw Material Packaging) with plant schedulers to ensure production and material handling are aligned.
- Monitor and investigate to ensure that all process and purchase orders are fulfilled.
- Collaborate to resolve materials management issues causing deviations from inventory and service level targets.
- Facilitate daily/weekly/monthly meetings as required with all stakeholders.
- Organize and lead daily customer service calls.
- Coordinating with Engineering (capital installs and upgrades) providing them with time frames of asset availability and/or deadlines to deliver on customer expectations.
- Identify opportunities to improve the planning process and drive projects to completion.
- Communicating effectively across organizational lines to introduce mid-term changes and providing for exceptions.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications (Education/Experience)
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, or related area.
- 8 years supply chain and/or manufacturing experience across Plan, Source, Make and Deliver.
- Previous scheduling, demand planning, and program management experience required.
- Prior experience leading a multi-plant scheduling and material management function.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Interpersonal skills to interact with diverse groups of individuals within and outside of the company.
- An operational understanding of food manufacturing and consumer packaged goods financial management at the plant, customer and supplier level is a plus.
- Ability to effectively work and build strong relationships cross functionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Innovation, etc.
- Experience with ERP Systems, SAP (preferably), Oracle, BI Tools or Tableau.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and planning skills. A strong multi-tasker with a proven ability to prioritize and manage deadlines. Proficiency in PowerPoint and data visualization.

FLSA Designation: This position is a Salaried Exempt and not eligible for overtime.
