Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Business Contact (BC) / Operations Manager to lead our FedEx Ground operations in Topeka, Kansas. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in logistics, team management, and operational oversight within the FedEx Ground network.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily pickup and delivery operations, ensuring all routes are efficiently staffed and deliveries meet FedEx service standards.
- Manage a team of delivery drivers and coordinate with support staff, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and, when necessary, disciplinary actions.
- Utilize FedEx Route Optimization (FRO) to create and adjust delivery routes for optimal efficiency.
- Ensure all operations comply with DOT regulations and FedEx safety standards. Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions.
- Coordinate vehicle maintenance schedules to ensure all delivery vehicles are in safe and operational condition, maintain accurate records of service.
- Act as the primary liaison between drivers, management, and FedEx Ground terminal staff. Address and resolve any operational issues promptly.
- Manage payroll, maintain accurate records, handle disputes, and oversee other administrative tasks as required.
- Handle station paperwork and attend terminal meetings as required.
- Track and make report on missing packages and customer complaints.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a FedEx Ground Business Contact or Operations Manager is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in FedEx Route Optimization (DRO) and GroundCloud systems.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively.
- Excellent communication skills to build team morale and address operational challenges.
- Problem-solving abilities to make informed decisions quickly and efficiently.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Must be approved and maintain a driver status with FedEx.
- Ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and DOT physical examination.
