IT Technician and Junior Systems Administrator
Responsibilities:
Provide technical assistance to employees, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and ensure the smooth operation of POS systems and other IT equipment.
Maintain and update systems, managing both day-to-day technical support and IT infrastructure needs across multiple locations.
Oversee IT projects, including system upgrades, software implementations, and infrastructure expansion, ensuring that projects meet established timelines and budgets.
Manage vendor relationships, coordinating with external partners to achieve project goals and support ongoing IT operations.
Additional duties assigned, as needed.
Skills:
Strong technical troubleshooting and customer service skills, with expertise in POS systems and software management.
Proven project management skills, including budgeting, timeline management, and effective communication.
Vendor management and the ability to coordinate across multiple locations to support IT needs and strategic initiatives.
Basic Hardware Components Knowledge: Familiarity with the core components of a PC
Peripheral Devices: Troubleshooting issues related to external devices like printers, scanners, USB devices, monitors, etc.
Application Errors: Identifying and resolving common software issues, such as crashes, freezing, or installation errors. This could involve checking event logs, updating software, or repairing/reinstalling the program.
Network Connectivity Issues: Diagnosing issues with network adapters, routers, switches, and troubleshooting connectivity problems (e.g., no internet connection, slow speeds, Wi-Fi issues).

Education and Certifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Technical Skills:
Basic knowledge of server administration, including setup, configuration, and maintenance.
Familiarity with virtualization technologies
Understanding of networking concepts, including VLANs, firewalls, and VPNs.
Experience with Active Directory, user account management, and group policies.
Basic scripting skills for automation tasks.
Soft Skills:
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Effective communication to interact with team members and end-users.
Adaptability to learn new technologies quickly.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Experience:
1-3 years of experience in a system administration or IT support role preferred.
