Key Responsibilities
- Engagement Management: Independently handle engagements with minimal supervision. Demonstrate strong job management skills, including timely task initiation, planning, effective communication, and adherence to firm policies.
- Technical Expertise: Prepare financial statements, disclosures, and issue audit, review, or compilation reports. Conduct engagement planning, risk assessments, and evaluate client controls. Supervise staff accountants and ensure timely delivery of services.
- Client Relations: Begin developing strong client relationships and acquire a deep understanding of relevant IRC sections and regulations.
- Training & Mentoring: Train, coach, and mentor staff accountants and assist with administrative functions as assigned by senior staff.
Essential Skills & Abilities
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent interpersonal abilities and effective negotiation tactics.
- Proactive Thinking: Independent thinker with exceptional time management skills, capable of completing tasks in a timely manner.
- Technical Proficiency: Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CCH Products, Workstream, QuickBooks, or NetSuite is a plus. Must have expertise in accounting, tax, and auditing regulations.
Education & Experience
- Minimum of two years’ experience in public accounting as a staff accountant or equivalent, with a bachelor's degree and at least 30 hours in college-level accounting courses.
Physical Requirements
- Typical office environment with prolonged periods of sitting and computer work. Requires personal transportation for client visits and occasional out-of-town travel. Moderate to low overtime, with higher demands during tax season.
