SUMMARY:
The Food Server is responsible for taking food and beverage orders from our guests while providing friendly, Genuine Service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet Guests in a positive, friendly manner and make them feel welcome utilizing tenants of Genuine Service.
- Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, prices, preparations, major ingredients and quality standards, taste, appearance, texture, etc.
- Takes Guests’ food and beverage orders, utilizing suggestive selling techniques. answers questions, and makes suggestions regarding food and service.
- Delivers all required condiments just prior to serving food orders
- Serves all food and beverage orders to the Guests.
- Anticipate the guests’ needs and respond appropriately with a sense of urgency.
- Accurately writes order on check and then transfers order to Micros system.
- Asks Guest for food temperatures on specific menu items.
- Relays order to kitchen and serves courses from kitchen and service bars.
- Garnishes and decorates dishes prior to serving.
- Observes diners to respond to any additional requests and to determine when meal has been completed.
- Resolve Guest complaints, ensuring Guest satisfaction.
- Presents bill for payment and refers patron to Cashier.
- Work as a team, assisting all Guests’ and Team Members’ needs and inquiries.
- Guide the activities of the assigned Busperson to ensure optimum service to guests.
- Clears and resets counters or tables at conclusion of each course.
- Remove dishes, cutlery, glasses and paper product from tables as needed.
- Additional cleaning and stocking as requested by management.
- Participate in Company sponsored and/or authorized promotions to help ensure the success of the property.
- Other related duties as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
All Employees must be knowledgeable to all Company policies and procedures, including health, fire and safety regulations.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Excellent Guest service skills; able to speak confidently.
- This is a trainable position, however knowledge of food and beverage, upselling techniques, Point of Sale system and a working knowledge of health, safety and sanitation procedures is preferred.
- Knowledge of table service in a fast paced, high volume restaurant environment.
- Must be able to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Must be able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Alcohol Awareness Card and Clark County Health Card required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Must be able to effectively communicate in English.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
