Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Financial Controller at Flamingo Septic & Utilities in Jacksonville, FL. The Financial Controller will manage financial reporting, analyze financial statements, oversee accounting functions, and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
Key responsibilities of a construction controller:
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Develop and maintain project budgets, forecast future costs based on project progress, and track variances against the budget.
- Cost Control:
- Monitor project expenditures, identify potential cost overruns, and implement corrective actions to stay within budget.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare accurate financial reports including work-in-progress (WIP) schedules, project status updates, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for management.
- Accounts Payable/Receivable Management:
- Oversee the processing of invoices from vendors and subcontractors, as well as managing client billing and collections.
- Internal Controls:
- Establish and maintain robust internal controls to ensure accuracy and prevent fraud in financial transactions.
- Compliance:
- Adhere to relevant accounting standards, industry regulations, and company policies regarding financial reporting and tax compliance.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
- Payroll Management:
- Oversee payroll processing for construction crews, including calculations of wages, benefits, and deductions.
- Risk Assessment:
- Identify potential financial risks associated with construction projects and implement mitigation strategies.
- System Implementation:
- Utilize and manage construction accounting software to track project costs, generate reports, and streamline financial processes.
Required skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred
- Extensive experience in construction accounting and financial management
- Proficiency in construction project management tools and accounting software

Salary : $110,000 - $130,000
