What We Are Looking For:
We are looking for a Systems Validation Engineer Summer 2025 Intern to join our Autonomous Solutions team in our Evansville, Indiana location!
The Systems Validation Engineer will assist a Validation Engineer with the creation and execution of validation test plans on complex automation systems consisting of operator user interfaces, system software, and PLC control systems. You will report your findings to the Systems Validation Engineer and participate in design and usability improvements. Upon the final weeks of the internship, interns will be asked to present a summary of their experience to our leadership team and be given the opportunity to provide impactful feedback.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in engineering, or a related field
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Responsibilities
- Create and execute Validation Test cases and document defects found
- Assign severity level of defects found based on pre-defined criteria and consultation with the Validation Engineer
- Load new software builds on the test bench set-up, update all subsystems with firmware and software ready for validation
- Maintain a record of software compatibility matrix being tested
- Troubleshoot software, configuration, and electrical issues found during testing
- Interface with a global team of engineers and product support resources to successfully complete tasks
- Apply all safety procedures and use proper safety equipment as needed
- Maintain a clean, neat, and safe work environment at all times.
