What are the responsibilities and job description for the Principal Advanced Development Engineer position at FLANDERS Inc.?
Primary Purpose : Provide technical leadership indesigning, developing, and testing power, motor control electronic hardware, and electric machines for our products and services.
Essential Functions :
- EngineerDevelop, program, and implement AC drive systems, power converters, and electric machines. Demonstrate expert knowledge of process and skills to design wide ranges of power, complexity, and application of power systems. Projects will include emphasis on commercial details and project management including but not limited to : Speed and torque controlled motor drive developmentMotor electrical designDevelopment and tuning of regulators including current, speed, torque, EMF, and field weakeningExpert knowledge of motor architectures, motor design, control algorithms, and dynamicsExpert understanding of power converter concepts such as buck-boost DC / DCPower electronics design and packagingDevelopment of detailed models and simulation of systems using Matlab and SimulinkProvide mentorship for other engineersLead some or all the project development phases related to the products supported.Collaborate with Sales team and customers to define and support product requirements. Provide technical leadership of complex, multi-faceted engineering projects.Appreciate and demonstrate FLANDERS’ Core Values and Principles, and Corporate Mission.
