What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Educator--Part Time--Year Round position at Flanders Nature Center & Land Trust?
Flanders Nature Center & Land Trust is a non-profit environmental education and land conservation organization located in Woodbury, Connecticut that serves the environmental education needs of its surrounding community.
The Environmental Educator will work on a part time as needed and scheduled basis per week. Responsibilities include teaching onsite, offsite, and Live Virtual NGSS curriculum based programs, as well as working in Flanders Camps as a camp counselor, Academy's and other nature programs, including community event programs.
Qualifications include a degree in environmental education, science, education, or related field, with some experience with school-aged students required. Enthusiasm for nature and the outdoors, and ability to follow directions and work independently a must. Ability to engage elementary age students, and prepare for and carry out detailed lesson plans.
