This is for a long term sub for office tasks both in main office and activities office.

Salary: $16.69/hr., non-exempt, not eligible for benefits.
Objective:
The Administrative Assistant provides a wide variety of complex and confidential administrative and secretarial support. They are able to work under a variety of conditions and with a diverse group of people. They are skilled at determining the best course of action swiftly and logically. This support staff member is flexible and excels at fine-tuning processes to best meet needs.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provides day-to-day secretarial support to school office.
- Provides information in response to inquiries in person or by telephone; refers inquiries to appropriate staff.
- Prepares communications with students, staff, public, Board of Trustees, businesses, and departments.
- Prepares materials for meetings, projects, in-services, curriculum, or other school events or reports as requested.
- Prepares and maintains school records.
- Assists with coordination of meetings, orientations, and facilities arrangements.
- Assists with planning of staff activities and time lines.
- Assists with the planning, preparation and maintenance of budgetary records.
- Prepares supply requisitions, purchase orders, requests for special data, or similar actions within established procedures.
- Operates office equipment such as copiers, calculators, word processors, personal computers, typewriters, data terminals, or other equipment.
- Plans and prioritizes work load to meet set deadlines.
- Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies, equipment, and materials.
- Assists staff with special projects as directed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Skill in arithmetic, grammar, spelling, record keeping, and compiling material.
- Ability to maintain effective professional relationships with staff, students, and parents.
- Ability to maintain student confidentiality.
- Ability to maintain regular and acceptable attendance levels.
- Skill in the operation of a variety of office machines including personal computers, telephones, and copiers.
- Skill in critical thinking, problem analysis and resolution.
- Ability to work effectively with people from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds.
- Proficiency in computer technology, including word processing, spread sheets and data base.
- Ability to become proficient and successfully operate SchoolMaster software.
- Ability to follow directions.
- Skill, dedication, and aptitude for working with students.
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multi-task.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent and four years in increasingly responsible administrative support experience; OR,
- Associate degree in relevant field of study and two years in increasingly responsible administrative support experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- None.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand on feet for extended periods of time, stoop, bend, lift and carry items up to 40 pounds.
