Pay Range
$26.00 to $45.00 per hour, depending on Certification and experiencer
Status And Schedule
Temporary, as needed based on student needs, flexible schedule between Monday and Sunday, which may include occasional evening hours; may work up to 5 hours a week class time with up to 2 hours a week of paid preparation time; non-benefit eligible
Dress Code
Casual with appropriate coverage

Essential Duties
- Arrive on time to student’s classes and deliver interpretation and transliteration services between individuals using spoken English and the student using American Sign Language
- Provide other educationally-related interpreter services, such as meetings between a student and FVCC staff and instructors, as arranged to best match student and interpreter’s schedules
- Coordinate services with instructors to prepare for classes, as needed
- Demonstrate linguistic and cultural competency required by professional interpreting services
- Follow the professional code of ethics for interpreters
- Demonstrate respect for client, students, and FVCC faculty and staff
- Adhere to standards of confidential communication
- Performs other like duties as assigned
- Reports to Coordinator, Disability Services
- Skills equal to EIPA Level 4-5 OR commiserate experience
- Current RID Certification(s)
- Ability to meet the unique needs of a student who is deaf in an educational environment
- Demonstrated fluidity in voice-to-sign and sign-to-voice skills in an educational environment
- Ability to clearly conveying aspects and meanings of college content
- Facilitate and support participation, social communication, and advocacy for students who are deaf
