Surgical Technology, Health Science, Broussard Center 135, FVCC Kalispell Campus
Eligibility
Current Surgical Technology Students only--must be eligible for a Work Study award (as determined by Financial Aid)
Start Date
This position will start Spring Semester 2025.
Length Of Employment
Academic Calendar Year 2024/2025
Pay Range
$13.00 - $14.00 per hour, depending on experience
Work Schedule
Work is performed based on student schedule and supervisor needs; student will not perform work during their scheduled class time. May work up to 19 hours per week
Dress Code
Casual wear with appropriate coverage

Supports the Surgical Technology program and/or instructor
Position Duties
Under minimum supervision, monitors the Surgical Technology Lab, duties may include:
Communication skills, critical thinking, effective reasoning, planning, technology, collaboration, organization, leadership and social responsibility

Practical competence, critical thinking, collaboration, communicating effectively, technological competence

Position Duties
Under minimum supervision, monitors the Surgical Technology Lab, duties may include:
- Cleans Surgical Technology lab after practice sessions and practicals;
- Organizes surgical instrumentation, equipment and supplies
- Complies list of needed lab supplies and reports any concerns with equipment, instrumentation, or activities to supervisor;
- Makes copies and scans documents; and
- May perform other like duties.
- Currently enrolled in Surgical Technology program;
- Knowledge of surgical instrumentation, equipment, and supplies; and
- Knowledge in anatomy and physiology and medical terminology; and
- Knowledge in surgical procedures; and
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and use of copier and scanner; and
- Ability to work with minimum supervision and is self-motivated; and
- Ability to problem-solving and follow directions; and
- Possesses a cooperative spirit in working with peers, supervisors, students and the public.

Student Employment Guidelines
- Students must be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credits for fall or spring semester to qualify for student employment.
- Students may not work beyond 19 hours per week during semester.
- Student workers shall be actively engaged; no use of cell phones (except in case of emergency) or social media.
- Student workers shall demonstrate a commitment to the job with adherence to work schedule, effective communication/interpersonal skills, and quality customer service skills to be a representative of FVCC.
