This position is responsible for the daily management, support, and administration of the campus instructional technology systems, including those used for course syllabi, student course evaluations, micro-credentials issuance, accessibility remediation, the learning management system, and various other Learning Tools Interoperability systems.
Essential Functions
- Serves as main point of contact for the campus instructional technology systems including platforms for syllabi, course evaluations, micro-credentialing, accessibility remediation, and the learning management system (LMS).
- Oversees the development and maintenance of platforms supporting teaching and learning, syllabus management, credentialing, curriculum design, academic catalog management, course scheduling, workforce development and continuing education.
- Maintains and optimizes relevant integrations between learning technology systems and the student information system to ensure accurate, secure, and timely transfer of data between systems. Support will also include custom coding for data extracts or integrations, data analysis, BI reporting, and security management.
- Liaises with LMS support and maintains LMS support documentation for users.
- Collaborates with the Information Technology department to facilitate system access, implementation, integration, automation, and reporting for instructional technologies.
- Partners with the Institutional Research team to analyze data, produce visualizations, generate reports, craft surveys, and promote data-driven decision-making for academic and instructional enhancement. Creates and presents learning analytic reports in partnership with IR.
- Ensures institutional compliance with relevant data protection and privacy standards for distance education.
- Deploys Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) integrations and assists with external tools integrations.
- Provides technical support for LTI’s integrated with the LMS.
- Collaborates with team members to ensure instructional technology system configurations meets user needs.
- Translates data into useable and meaningful formats.
- Reviews and improves existing systems. Collaborates with teams to integrate new systems and generate automated workflows to enhance existing systems.
- Develops, maintains, and manages advanced reporting, analytics, dashboards and other BI solutions. Tableau?
- Organizes and facilitates user training sessions for the adoption of new and evolving instructional technology systems.
- Works with team members to create useful reports and dashboards that provide insight, improves/automates processes, or otherwise adds value.
- Creates and manages key database scripting needed for custom data bridges, extracts, and data reporting.
- Performs and documents data analysis, data validation, and data mapping/design.
- Researches and implements new technologies and best practices; stays current with industry trends and best practices.
- Assists the Instructional Technologist Designer with developing and recommending procedures for distance education for faculty and administration, as needed.
- Promotes, encourages, and executes programs of continuous assessment and benchmarking of goals, programs, and services, and communicates the results.
- Keeps abreast of the latest developments in applicable areas to help build strategic initiatives and remains current in practices, trends and research related to areas of assignment.
- Participates on committees and/or working groups for the college’s instructional technology systems.
- Serves as an institutional resource on instructional technology systems; works closely with faculty, staff and students; assists in providing training, tools and resources.
- Cross trains to perform other departmental and team functions; backfills for staff as needed.
- Actively participates in the development of a climate that promotes and supports innovation and efforts to continuously improve services to students, faculty, and the College.
- Creates and maintains a collaborative and collegial environment with colleagues and maintains effective working relationships.
- Maintains professional ethics and confidentiality of students in accordance with applicable laws and policies.

- Reports to the Vice President, Academic and Student Affairs
- One year of experience administering a learning management system.
- Associate’s degree AND two years of systems support related experience; OR,
- Bachelor’s degree; OR,
- An equal combination of four years of education and related experience.
- Bachelor’s degree AND two years of systems support related experience.
- Work experience with large, complex information systems.
- Knowledge of and experience with database programming, SQL, and data reporting.
- Knowledge of and experience with business intelligence reporting tools.
- Experience in project management.
- Experience providing technical support and training to end-users.
- Ability to provide quality customer service to a diverse user population, displaying self-initiative and a positive demeanor.
- Knowledge of learning management design and systems
- Knowledge of, and/or willingness to learn, institutionally accepted data reporting and analysis guidelines and software toolsets.
