SUMMARY
Flathead Valley Community College is an outstanding public community college located on a beautiful campus in Kalispell, Montana with panoramic views of the northern Rocky Mountains and Glacier National Park. The Web Services and Digital Marketing Manager oversees FVCC’s website, ensuring an engaging, user-friendly experience that supports student enrollment, community engagement and institutional goals. This role manages website updates, structure, and content while ensuring accessibility, SEO optimization and brand consistency. Additionally, the position tracks and analyzes marketing data, providing insights to improve digital strategies, enhance user engagement and support decision-making.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Website Management and Optimization
  • Oversees day-to-day updates and maintenance of the college’s website, ensuring functionality, accessibility and ease of navigation.
  • Manages the development, design, and ongoing improvements of all aspects of FVCC’s website to enhance user experience and engagement.
  • Aligns website content with the college’s established brand and communication strategies, ensuring consistency across all pages.
  • Monitors and enforces brand standards, creating and maintaining an in-house web style guide based on best practices.
  • Keeps website domain and hosting registrations current, along with other web-based subscriptions.
  • Creates, writes, edits and manages web content in collaboration with marketing team members and campus colleagues.
  • Monitors web analytics, conducts usability testing and troubleshoots technical issues to maximize site performance and user experience.
  • Manages and optimizes FVCC’s Google Business listings.
  • Ensures compliance with Section 508 (Accessibility) standards, SEO best practices, and other web regulations.
  • Updates and installs mandatory third-party plugins and maintains links to other databases.

Digital Marketing & Asset Management
  • Plays a key role in developing, managing, and analyzing digital newsletters and email marketing campaigns to effectively engage students, donors, and the community.
  • Researches, evaluates, recommends and implements systems to efficiently store, organize and optimize marketing assets (photography, video, and digital content) for maximum team productivity.
  • Evaluates and suggests platforms, tools, and workflows that improve efficiency in website management, digital marketing and content storage.
Data & Analytics
  • Pulls, analyzes and interprets website and marketing performance data to assess user behavior, campaign effectiveness, and engagement metrics.
  • Provides strategic recommendations based on data insights to enhance digital marketing efforts and improve website performance.
  • Maximizes SEO strategies to increase the college’s online visibility and search rankings.
  • Stays informed about professional trends and ethics in telecommunications technology and applies industry best practices to website management and digital marketing efforts.
Collaboration & Governance
  • Works closely with IT and Institutional Research to ensure seamless integration of digital platforms, data accuracy and website functionality.
  • Serves on the Data Governance Board, contributing to policies and best practices related to data management and digital communications.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, systems engineering, web development, marketing or a closely related field from an accredited higher education institution AND a minimum of three years of experience managing content and production for high-traffic websites.
  • Associate’s degree in computer science, IT, systems engineering, web development, marketing or a closely related field from an accredited higher education institution AND a minimum of five years of experience managing content and production for high-traffic websites.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to represent the College professionally in various interactions.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and similar editing tools.
  • Ability to use WordPress and other website content management systems.
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively.
  • Strong and effective communication skills.
  • Proficient computer skills in applicable systems and software.
  • Experience with digital marketing best practices.
  • Knowledge of web analytics tools and usability testing methods.
  • Ability to work in a creative, fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
  • Ability to work within policies and procedures of FVCC
  • Ability and willingness to serve as an ambassador for the College by interacting appropriately with the college community and community
  • Ability to maintain effective and positive professional relationships
  • Ability to follow and issue directions
  • Demonstrated professional presentation and written communication, diplomacy, customer service, management skills, problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with people from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds
  • Ability to intermittently work non-traditional schedules including evenings, weekends, etc.
  • Ability to maintain regular and acceptable attendance levels
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
  • Ability to successfully pass a criminal background check
  • Ability to respond in the event of an emergency
  • This is a Medium Duty job, according to the Selected Characteristics of Occupations Defined in the Revised Dictionary of Occupational Titles, U.S. Department of Labor and Industry. Medium Duty involves exertion of 20-50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds continuously to move objects.
