The Procurement Manager will play an integral role in developing and implementing the procurement strategy and processes, as well as leading major procurement. The right candidate will be willing to roll their sleeves up to tackle multiple problems, collaborate with others, while leading projects through critical procurement phases that enable construction and operations of our projects.     

Title: Senior Procurement Manager  

Reports To: VP, Procurement  

Location: Denver, Boston, or New York City offices preferred. However, the location of the workplace is flexible provided the candidate can travel up to 20% of the time. 

Description:  Responsible for supporting the building of the procurement organization, establishing equipment strategy, and executing all procurement objectives necessary to achieve company and project objectives. A deep understanding and interest in energy storage technology, equipment and trends are a must. The position will require supporting execution of multifaceted agreements for equipment, and operation and maintenance of grid scale energy storage projects. This will require an ability to collaborate across the operations, finance, and development teams. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Establish and implement procurement strategies, processes, and tools for the company 
• Identify and qualify vendors for all aspects of grid scale energy storage projects
• Support RFI and RFPs for BESS to determine technical and commercial tradeoffs
• Support contracts for major equipment, and balance of plant equipment, operations, and maintenance agreements
• Establish and manage supplier relationships, develop metrics to measure and influence performance
• Develop a data repository of vendors qualifications and certifications
• Collaborate with Flatiron Energy development and operations teams to manage engineering, procurement, and other project related activities. 
• Report on key procurement metrics and impact on project schedules and budgets      
• Analyze and draft reports on supply chain market trends, policy changes, emerging technologies, and pricing forecasts
• Support construction of Flatiron Approved Vendor List (AVL) and maintain document library
• Establish new processes and procedures that will include using new tools
• Support project financing processes and ensure all documents and RFIs from IEs are met

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; engineering degree preferred  
• Minimum of 2 years of direct experience in energy storage procurement
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in energy or infrastructure procurement          
• Ability to implement procurement processes, tools, and documentation
• Prior and relevant experience developing, negotiating, and closing capacity reservation agreements, master supply agreements, long term supply agreements 
• Experience with procurement of high voltage electrical infrastructure
• Significant networks and relationships with BESS and major electrical infrastructure OEMs 
• Experience with safe harboring and domestic content requirements
• Strong problem-solving skills, resourcefulness, creativity, and leadership skills
• Superior verbal and written communication skills and high level of attention to detail
• Self-motivated and able to cope with complexity and uncertainty

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time

Salary:  Competitive base salary commensurate with experience
