ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Treasury Management Officer (TMO) is responsible for growing and managing the Bank’s commercial deposit portfolio and delivering treasury management solutions that help clients optimize cash flow and operational efficiencies. This role requires a proactive business development approach, strategic relationship management, and technical expertise in cash management services. The TMO collaborates closely with Market President(s), Relationship Managers, and internal teams to expand market share, deepen client relationships, and maintain a competitive treasury product suite. The specific responsibilities are further outlined below:
Client Acquisition & Relationship Management
- Manages all elements of the Cash Management sales cycle, including business development, prospect qualification, needs analysis, closing, and implementation of services.
- Solicits, establishes, and maintains new commercial banking relationships, with a focus on cash management products and core deposit growth.
- Collaborates closely with Relationship Managers to ensure commercial deposits are gathered and treasury management solutions are effectively integrated into commercial lending relationships.
- Develops and executes sales presentations for clients and prospects, including formal written and oral presentations in response to RFPs.
- Serves as the first point of contact for commercial deposit clients, ensuring superior client service and responsiveness.
- Proactively generates new business through networking, cultivating referral sources and cold calling, as appropriate.
- Reinforces the application of high-touch client service by setting an example and coaching other staff as needed.
- Represents the Bank at community and professional events to enhance market presence and business development opportunities.
- Participates in networking events, client entertainment, and after-hours business development opportunities as necessary.
- Meets annual deposit growth goals assigned by senior management and contributes to sales planning and execution for less experienced staff.
- Cross-sells the Bank’s other products and services, referring clients to appropriate internal teams.
Treasury Management
- Provides technical expertise and advisory support on treasury solutions, including Business Online Banking, bill payment, Positive Pay, and other electronic banking services.
- Develops and delivers training for Relationship Managers and retail associates to ensure they are knowledgeable about cash management products.
- Stays informed on industry trends, market conditions (both nationally and within Boulder County), and competitive offerings to position the Bank’s treasury solutions effectively.
- Tracks pipeline activity, sales performance, and client usage of treasury products, providing monthly reporting and insights.
- Reviews client account analysis statements and recommends adjustments where appropriate to enhance the client experience and maximize revenue opportunities.
Risk Management & Regulatory Compliance
- Educates clients on operational risks related to treasury management, including fraud prevention measures for wire transfers, ACH transactions, and other digital banking services.
- Provides general oversight on treasury management risk-related matters that may arise in Bank operations.
- Ensures compliance with BSA and other banking regulations through required training and adherence to internal policies.
- Reviews overdraft reports for assigned commercial deposit clients, making approval or decline decisions within established authority limits.
- Monitors treasury services and deposit activities to identify potential risk concerns and collaborates with internal teams to implement appropriate controls.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related degree
- 5 years of Banking and Treasury Management experience
- Knowledge of different Banking products to include but not limited to: Online Banking, wire transfer, ACH Processing, card operations, and risk management
- Knowledge of Bank Deposit Operations
- Business Banking or Commercial Lending experience preferred
- CTP or similar professional designation preferred
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products and strong technical skills
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- The position’s pay range between $90,000 and $110,000 plus performance-based incentive plan tied to achieving key production targets, including deposit growth, treasury management sales, and fee income generation.
