POSITION SUMMARY
The Construction / Field Operations Technician is primarily responsible for overseeing / performing the maintenance of Liftrock compression rental fleet. Managing crews performing all types of construction and maintenance work in industrial construction environments related to the oil and gas industry, working closely with other Liftrock personnel to complete projects on time, and to specifications.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Adheres to all safety rules, regulations, policy, procedure, and practices always.
- Emphasize all work is to be performed with the following priorities (in order): Safety, Quality, and Production.
- Work with Automation to troubleshoot multiple brands of RTU's and PLC's. (Allen Bradley, TotalFlow, Fisher ROC)
- Installation, Configuration, Calibration, Troubleshooting, & Repair of wellhead/skid automation and measurement equipment.
- Formulate, design, and execute safe and cost-effective construction planning.
- Complete system maintenance, repair, etc.
- Reads blueprint drawings, plans jobs, review quality of work, and maintains high standards of workmanship.
- Works with tanks, vessels, compressors, pumps, piping, pneumatic valves, power distribution, automation controls, instrumentation, SCADA including making repairs, adding new features or functionality, and installing new equipment.
- Prepares layouts, directs contractors on plan execution.
- Serves as a resource for troubleshooting operational issues and problem solving, working with coworkers and other resources.
- Comply with safety, environmental, and other company guidelines, policies, etc., responsible for proper and timely reporting.
- Assists with and coordinates implementation of projects and ensures successful completion of the assigned projects within time.
- Adapt, update, and execute technical decisions regarding the plan.
- Work side by side with team members and contractors to ensure daily plans and execution of plans is being performed in the proper manner, and to develop a preventive maintenance program.
- Secure bids for services from approved construction contractors and part suppliers.
- Help develop budgets and plans and assist operations personnel in reviewing existing facilities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
- Effective communication with all levels of employees and contractors in a respectful and inclusive way.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
- Ability to interpret blueprints, PID's, schematic drawings, and use same to troubleshoot and diagnose issues.
- Must have some working knowledge of TotalFlow RTU’s, instrumentation and electronics, and control systems. A plus if you have experience with calibrating gas flow meters and taking gas samples.
- Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills and research skills.
- Ability to use a laptop computer, iPhone.
- Ability to identify work priorities and function with minor supervision.
- Ability to handle administrative tasks and handle multiple priorities associated with or without supervision.
- Experience regarding production equipment construction, gas compressor installs, wellhead hook ups and gas lift.
- Ability to complete construction update paperwork pertaining to job assignments.
- Ability to communicate effectively with different departments and levels within the Liftrock organization.
- Must be able to work long hours if necessary.
- Ability to travel in and out of state with some overnight stays if necessary.
- Ability to complete projects assigned within deadlines.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- Minimum 3 - 8 years of operations experience in the natural gas compression industry.
- 3 years of experience in oil field facility construction.
- Experience in contractor supervision / management.
- Industry training and certifications are a plus.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

- This position requires walking or standing for extended periods and working in environments of various temperatures (heat, cold, dust).
- Exposure to loud noise, occupational hazards, or outdoor elements.
- Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and walkways or operate in a confined space as associated with oilfield environment.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to see, talk, and hear.
- The employee frequently is required to sit and use hands along with fingers, to handle or feel, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms.
- The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis, 75-100 lbs. on an occasional basis.
POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a full-time hourly position. Days of work are typically Monday through Friday, but days and hours can vary due to workload and needs of the company.
This position is based in Midland/Odessa TX, you will be expected to reside in the Midland/Odessa,
TX area and be available to report to work from this location Monday through Friday, unless otherwise
stated by your supervisor, and during assigned “on-call”.
