Summary: Performs compounding of flavor and fragrance chemicals according to quality specifications and production due dates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Compounds flavor and fragrance chemicals.
• Efficient in labeling and filling finished product
• Has working knowledge of equipment such as scales, pumps, tanks, mixers, filter presses, homogenizers.
• Ability to perform Pack Out/Sanitation responsibilities.
• Assists in the general cleanliness of the production areas and processing machines.
• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

• Education and/or Experience - High school diploma or general education degree (GED). No prior experience required.
• Language Skills - Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations with only occasional or no variables.
• Computer Skills - None required.
• Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Computer Skills - None required.

Certificates: Fork truck certified a plus.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is frequently required to talk or hear and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally must lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee will regularly work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
