Summary

Keeps working areas in production departments of industrial establishment in clean and orderly condition by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the following:

  • Arranges boxes, materials, and hand trucks or other industrial equipment in neat and orderly manner.
  • Cleans lint, dust, oil, and grease from equipment, electrical panels, and other areas as needed.
  • Clears cobwebs from facility.
  • Cleans floors with mops and floor scrubbers.
  • Cleans rooms, hallways, lobbies, break rooms, rest rooms, corridors, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
  • Washes windows, walls, door panels.
  • Empties wastebaskets and empties and cleans outside ashtrays.
  • Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
  • Replenishes bathroom supplies.
  • Organizes recycling lanes.
  • Picks up refuse from plant grounds and maintains area, shovels snow from steps, and salts pathways.
  • Paints designated areas as needed.
  • Assists in spill cleanups.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

  • Education and/or Experience - High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Language Skills - Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Computer Skills - None required.
