Position Summary:
The Parts Washer is responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of all equipment and
components used in food manufacturing. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring that all
parts are free of contaminants and meet sanitation standards required for food safety. The
Parts Washer will utilize various cleaning methods and solvents while adhering to safety
and operational protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Parts Cleaning:
o Operate and maintain parts washing equipment, including ultrasonic
cleaners, pressure washers, and manual washing stations.
o Clean, rinse, and dry equipment parts, tools, and utensils to ensure they are
free from food residue, oils, and contaminants.
o Identify and address any damage to parts during cleaning processes,
reporting findings to the maintenance supervisor.
- Sanitation Compliance:
o Follow strict sanitation and food safety guidelines to maintain compliance
with industry standards and regulations.
o Conduct routine inspections of cleaned parts to verify they meet quality
standards before being returned to production or storage.
o Maintain accurate records of cleaning processes, including types of cleaning
agents used, times, and quantities of parts processed.
- Chemical Handling:
o Safely handle and store cleaning chemicals, ensuring that all materials are
used according to safety guidelines and manufacturer instructions.
o Participate in training sessions on the proper use of cleaning agents and
hazardous materials.
- Equipment Maintenance:
o Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on parts washing
equipment, ensuring it operates efficiently and effectively.
o Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the supervisor
promptly.
- Safety Practices:
o Adhere to all workplace safety protocols, including the proper use of
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
o Maintain a clean and organized work area, following Good Manufacturing
Practices (GMP) to prevent cross-contamination.
- Collaboration:
o Work closely with maintenance and production teams to prioritize parts
cleaning based on production schedules and equipment needs.
o Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth workflow
and timely completion of tasks.
