Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and efficient Food Expeditor to join our team at Flavor Hills Myrtle Beach. The Food Expeditor plays a key role in the smooth operation of the kitchen and dining area, acting as a liaison between the kitchen staff and servers. This position is responsible for ensuring that all food orders are prepared accurately, presented beautifully, and delivered to guests in a timely manner. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Order Coordination: Manage and coordinate all food orders, ensuring that each dish is prepared according to guest specifications and served promptly. Check each dish for accuracy, presentation, and temperature before sending it out.
• Communication: Serve as the main point of contact between the kitchen and front-of-house staff. Communicate effectively with chefs and servers to ensure a smooth flow of orders and a seamless dining experience for guests.
• Quality Control: Inspect all dishes before they leave the kitchen to ensure they meet Flavor Hills' standards for quality, presentation, and portion size. Communicate any discrepancies or issues to the kitchen staff immediately.
• Timing Management: Monitor the timing of orders to ensure that all dishes are delivered to guests at the appropriate time. Manage the timing of multiple courses for large parties and special events.
• Problem-Solving: Quickly and efficiently address any issues that arise with food orders, such as missing or incorrect items, and communicate with the appropriate staff to resolve the situation.
• Sanitation & Safety: Maintain a clean and organized expediting area, following all health and safety regulations. Ensure that food is handled safely and hygienically at all times.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with both the kitchen and front-of-house teams to create a positive and efficient working environment. Assist with other duties as needed, including food running and bussing tables, to support the overall success of the restaurant.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a Food Expeditor, server, or in a similar role is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both kitchen and front-of-house staff.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
• Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, handling multiple orders and special requests efficiently.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• A positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences.
• Reliable transportation to and from work.
