Summary: To be able to operate a forklift in a safe manner, to be able to read a batch ticket / instructions and distill a batch in a designated vessel.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to food-grade fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and toxic or caustic (cleaning agents) chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Working in the warehouse may, on occasion, expose this individual to non-hazardous fumes, and noise from equipment such as forklifts and air compressor.
Working in the production rooms may expose this individual to noise from blenders, mixers, pumps, and forklifts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Distillation or reactor experience, both vacuum & atmospheric
- General distillation process physics understanding……vacuum, open/closed systems, forward and reflux distillation, system parts and function
- Understanding basic separation, solvent recovery concepts
- Diligent in batch-record & log keeping
- Ability to operate all on-site forklifts
- Ability to identify correctly and pour raw materials in designated vessel utilizing scales and load cells
- Ability to follow work instructions to mix compound, track batch in Sage ERP system and submit sample to Quality
- Ability to read and interpret Sage batch sheets
- Ability to set up pumps, control heat/vacuum on S1-S4
- Ability to record/update distillation log sheet with details
- Ability to utilize Sage ERP system to track batches and print stock labels
- Ability to read and compound batches when given disposition from Quality
- Work in accordance with all relevant requirements including, but not limed to GMP, SQF, HAACP, FDA, USDA and internal safety guidelines
- Compliance with systems/programs similar to Flavor Producer’s Quality, Safety and Food Safety programs.

- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum 1 year experience in manufacturing / batching environment preferred
- General chemistry understanding a plus
- Must be able to frequently lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to perform routine work assignments, multi-tasking and following instructions with moderate supervision; ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to understand work procedures, methods, use required equipment and computerized work instructions
- Strong writing skills and able to communicate proficiently in English
