Security Guards are responsible for providing friendly and timely service to all incoming and outgoing transport drivers delivering to the Distribution Center. The security guard's primary objective is to maintain a safe, secure and professional environment by interacting with the public, vendors, and other distribution support staff.
Job duties:
- Provide smooth traffic flow in and out of the gate area by providing efficient and accurate service.
- Ensure the facility is provided with high quality security services to protect people and property.
- Stay alert to all happenings in the Yard. Report suspicious behavior to the Loss Prevention Supervisor or Management.
- Assist guests, enforce rules and regulations, and ensure access control.
- Enforce and comply with company policies, post orders and corporate instructions.
- Provide a visual deterrence by maintaining high visibility at all times.
- Conduct detailed observations of people and property within their area of responsibility.
- Provide detailed written reports of incidents that occur within their area of responsibility.
- Provide access control to authorized persons.
- Prevent theft of property.
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- 1-3 years of Loss Prevention / security experience at a distribution center preferred.
