The Community Outreach Manager of a store location focuses on building relationships within our current running community as well as reaching new running and fitness communities in our surrounding area. This position supports the Operating Partner in retaining our customer base, achieving sales objectives, and acquiring new customers. This position allows you to work collaboratively with Store Leadership and Staff, various departments of the Fleet Feet Store Support Team, and the local community. The person in this role is also expected to work on the floor fitting customers for a minimum of 10 hours per week in order to maintain a connection to the customer experience, market to receive feedback from customers directly, and partner with colleagues to market upcoming events.

Additional Requirements - Hours of work for this position are approximately 40 hours per week. Position requires moving around for periods of 2-4 hours without a rest break, and task sequencing and the completion of complex administrative responsibilities. Occasional moderate to heavy (10-25 lb) lifting and carrying, bending and reaching overhead may be required. Work environment includes substantial communication with customers, working in a retail environment with product displays and stockroom with inventory, and potentially slippery surfaces. Position is under minimum levels of day-to-day supervision. Some travel may be required for meetings, training or conferences.

Responsibilities
Marketing and Outreach
- Work closely with the Operating Partner to define and execute marketing strategies, materials, and outreach efforts that support business goals and objectives
- Create and activate strategies for new customer acquisition
- Develop and strengthen relationships with diverse community organizations, running groups, and other stakeholders
- Partner with store leadership to identify local race events and build partnerships with race organizers
- Collaborate with store leadership to create and manage events that drive in-store sales
- Work with store managers to appropriately staff and plan events to remain within the store's marketing budget
- Regularly collaborate with regional Marketing point of contact from Fleet Feet Store Support Team to ensure alignment with broader company objectives
- Adhere to all Fleet Feet Brand Standards and Guidelines
- Manage website and social media content utilizing resources and materials provided by Fleet Feet for local events that appeal to a diverse population
- Fosters growth of others through recognition, mentoring, and development opportunities
- Has weekly one on one meetings with coordinators
- Promotes individual and team performance by setting expectations, delegating, and providing tools and resources
- Builds and maintains trust from staff, customers, and the community by using good judgment
- Ability to lead and direct others
- Regularly work floor shifts and serve customers using the most current Fleet Feet outfitting experience
- Communicate to all staff about upcoming events and ensure they are confident in marketing upcoming events to customers
- Provide support to the Retail Experience Manager during floor shifts and be a positive role model for coworkers
- Passion for Fleet Feet’s mission and the ability to effectively communicate the value that Fleet Feet adds to the community
- Outstanding communication skills in multiple environments and with a range of audiences (internal and external)
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and make efficient decisions independently and collaboratively
- Flexible and adaptable; Ability to work a flexible schedule which can include weekends and some holidays
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Canva, and the GoogleSuite
- Experience with Run Specialty or working within the running community experience
