Fleisher Art Memorial seeks a part-time Visitor Services Assistant to support students, faculty, and guests at our lobby entrance desks. This role will require approximately 10 hours a week and is seeking a friendly, organized, and reliable individual who provides exceptional customer service and ensures a welcoming and safe environment for all visitors. The Visitor Services Assistant serves as a key point of contact and ambassador for Fleisher, reflecting the organization’s commitment to accessibility and community engagement.
The current opening requires weekday and select Saturday availability through the end of our spring term, with daytime availability required for the summer term. Hours vary depending on Fleisher’s school schedule, and there may be opportunities for expanded hours or additional shifts in future terms. This position reports to the Visitor Services Coordinator.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide a warm, approachable, professional presence at Fleisher’s lobby entrance desks.
- Offer accurate and helpful information to visitors, students, and faculty about Fleisher’s programs, classes, and the surrounding area.
- Assist with general inquiries, registration, and phone calls.
- Maintain a secure and safe environment within the building, supporting Fleisher’s Community Safety Policies and addressing related inquiries.
- Respond calmly and effectively in stressful situations, demonstrating sound judgment and problem-solving skills.
- Coordinate with staff to find substitute models, faculty, or class monitors as needed.
- Stay informed about Fleisher’s programs, policies, and procedures.
- Handle recordkeeping tasks and process payments as needed.
- Keep the reception area organized and tidy at all times.
- Complete daily opening and closing procedures accurately and thoroughly.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Visitor Services Coordinator.

- Dependability and punctuality are essential.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn database and registration systems.
- Passion for the arts and a connection to Philadelphia’s cultural community.
- Fluency in English is required; fluency in Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, or other languages is strongly preferred. Please clearly indicate your language skills in your application.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior experience in customer service or visitor services is preferred.
- Ability to obtain required child safety clearances upon offer of employment.
