POSITION TITLE: Substitute Classified Assistant
Job Class Code: 8910
QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or G.E.D and passing score on the Kentucky Para-educator Assessment or 48 college hours.
REPORTS TO: Human Resources
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Daily contracted services for the current school year.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Implements instructional techniques and learning activities as directed.
- Participates as an integral member of the remediation instructional team.
- Prepares and organizes materials and equipment for instruction and instructs pupils individually or in small groups in the classroom or a pull-out setting.
- Operates and cares for equipment used in the classroom for instructional purposes. Distributes instructional materials for instruction.
- Assists with the supervision of students during emergency drills, assemblies, recess play periods, lunch, field trips, etc.
- Assists with the documentation of pupil progress on a continuous basis.
- Maintain confidentiality as defined by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).
- Demonstrate the ability to adapt to circumstances. Exhibit good judgment and use appropriate language or behavior while on assignment. Model appropriate behavior for students.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
- Other duties as assigned by the Principal/Supervisor.
