Your next opportunity awaits at Fletcher Jones Management West. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Automotive Controller to oversee the financial operations within our automotive dealership in Carson, California.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automotive accounting, managing others, dealership financial management, and a deep understanding of the automotive industry.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership, guidance, training and supervision to Regional Business Office, partner with Regional Controller to identify and implement standardization of procedures to improve efficiency of Regional Business Office.
- Promotes open lines of communications with the Regional Controller, dealership management team, and Regional Business Office staff to ensure a solution-oriented team approach and transparency.
- Responsible for preparing factory financial statement and monthly reporting package.
- Maintains and reconciles assigned schedules and balance sheet accounts and those assigned to the Regional Business Office, providing supervision and support to ensure schedules are current and reasons for and/or status of balances are properly documented.
- Computes commissions and incentives for various positions in accordance with written pay plans.
- Manages and reports unclaimed property.
- Prepares monthly and quarterly reports as required by regulatory agencies, assists the Regional Controller with financial analysis.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field a plus
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience required
- Minimum of 5 years of Management experience
- Proficiency in dealership management software (DMS) and accounting software. Knowledge of CDK Global software is required
- Thorough understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards in the automotive industry
- Strong analytical skills
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities
- Effective communication skills for interacting with team members, senior management, and external partners
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and compliance
- Knowledge of taxation regulations and their application to automotive dealerships
