What are the responsibilities and job description for the Claims Clerk position at Flex Employee Services?
Summary :
The Intake Administrative Support will answer inquiries pertaining to claims filing requirements, assist with the completion of claims and the necessary supporting documents, provide clerical support; by receiving disability claims and determining if it is a “complete claim”, set up new claims and create files; analyze the data to determine the necessity of additional documents, track “incomplete”, “complete” and “pending claims”. Follow up on previously requested documents to establish a complete claim or gather the necessary documents for pending claims to refer the claim to the disability analysts for processing. Assist with the completion and mailing of life & AD&D applications, enter data is the system for billing purposes, respond to inquiries associated with life & AD&D and process death claims accordingly. At times they may approve, and process pregnancy disability claims; research and resolve member issues / inquiries; performing all department clerical tasks; and supporting disability analysts to ensure the team is meeting performance standards and procedures.
Qualifications :
- Three years’ experience as claims clerk processing medical claims
- Disability claims experience preferred
- Knowledge of medical terminology required
