Job Summary
The primary role of the Scheduler is to coordinate and manage daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to meet organizational objectives. The Scheduler will utilize multitasking skills to assist production teams by providing timely responses to simultaneous production issues, communicating status updates or production changes, and generating reports based on project flow and priorities. This position will be based in Itasca, IL.
Essential Functions:
- Schedule the usage of production materials to ensure optimal production levels.
- Evaluate suppliers for quality, timeliness, and alignment with organizational goals.
- Monitor the material supply flow and identify any shortages.
- Identify and resolve inventory-related issues.
- Forecast market challenges based on competitor analysis and industry trends.
- Address quality and production issues; assist in process improvement.
- Produce reports based on findings and production performance.
- Manage deadlines based on project expectations and ensure company timelines are met.
Competency or Position Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven experience working in a Lean Manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of manufacturing operations, with experience in high-mix/low-volume production environments.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior management, teams, and individuals.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to use data and other methods for analytical problem solving.
- Strong accountability record and the ability to take initiative.
Preferred:
- Experience in flexible packaging.
- Previous experience as a production scheduler or in a similar role.
