Wonderful non-profit organization is looking for a part-time IT Director for their organization located in Vienna, Va.

Rate : $60-$70 / Hr, based on experience, benefits to include : accrued sick leave and annual leave, eligible to participate in an IRA
Job Description : The IT Director’s primary responsibility is providing support across the organization for both the hardware and software in use by staff and programs. For this wonderful non-profit the ideal candidate will be an IT generalist with knowledge ranging from Tier 1&2 technology support to basic database structures to interacting with managed services is required. The IT Director will report to the Chief Operating Officer and will be the organization’s primary IT subject matter expert.
Responsibilities :
- Set up and configure new and used equipment, including resetting machines between deployments to users and preparing machines for repurposing or recycling.
- Provide technical assistance, troubleshooting, and basic training to staff, in conjunction with managed service provider that also provides basic level help desk support.
- Provide recommendations to management regarding future planning, budgeting, security needs, etc. based on staff issues encountered, market trends, and technology on hand.
- Work with managed service provider(Windows and Microsoft 365) and COO to ensure machines in use, donated, or to be purchased meet operating system and platform requirements.
- Set up machines and user accounts per Microsoft and organizational requirements.
- Remove / rename / reassign / amend user accounts and groups as needed, including working with supervisors regarding changes to access / permissions, forwarding of accounts, archiving former employee accounts, etc.
- Create, modify, and configure Sharepoint and Teams sites, and train and assist staff in maintaining those sites.
- Review and interpret Microsoft messages regarding updates, changing requirements, etc. in coordination with managed service provider and COO.
- Monitor MS notices regarding problems with emails – excessive numbers, malicious attachments, etc. to ensure both security of organizational data and continuity of operations for staff.
- Provide some administration support, including interpreting developer and update messages, for primary development / donations tracking software (Salesforce). General familiarity with customer management software and databases in general is sufficient (i.e., Salesforce-specific expertise is not required).
- Provide general support for other software used by the organization, including case management software (Apricot 360) in the form of general technology understanding and assistance with organizational buildout of use of such systems.
- Assist with continued effort to shift large-scale emailing to bulk email services while balancing organizational needs. May include management discussions, staff training, and set up of software.
- Responsible for managing IT equipment inventory (with support from COO) using AssetTiger software.
- Windows System Administrator (Microsoft 365 for Business) or strong experience with both is ideal
- Microsoft Office (advanced knowledge)
- Basic networking skills
- PC / laptop / printer – setup, troubleshooting, repair, software installation
- Basic understanding and familiarity with customer relationship management, donor management, and client management systems and databases.
- Currently uses Salesforce and Apricot; experience with Salesforce and / or Apricot is a plus but is not required
- Experience with Microsoft Flow, Power Automate, and related tools is a plus but not required
- A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and comfort in a diverse workplace
- Fluency in English is required; some proficiency in Spanish would be helpful but is not strictly necessary
