Staff Accountant

Exciting start up company specialized in thermal battery renewable energy storage seeking a Staff Accountant on a part time basis.

Company :  Exciting start up company specialized in thermal battery energy storage seeking a Staff Accountant for its growing team. Company’s technology makes renewable energy an on-demand energy source through utility-scale thermal storage. Harnessing today’s wasted wind and solar production to respond to grid needs at a cost competitive with fossil fuels, the company’s modular battery will provide storage to meet current and future needs.

Hours / Schedule : 15-20 hours / week

Job Type : Contract to Hire

Location Requirements : Remote or Hybrid with office located in Middleton, MA

Rate : $30-$40 / hour

Job Description :  Reporting to the company’s VP, Finance and Operations, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for the following :

Responsibilities :

• Process invoices, purchase orders and company credit card transactions
• Monthly Bank Reconciliations
• Process ACHs, and wires to pay vendors invoices and employee expenses
• Assist with troubleshooting technical issues
• Provide timely and effective customer service with regard to all external vendors, employees
• Manage accounting emails on a daily basis
• Set up new records for vendors, consultants / contractors and new employees in accounting system as needed
• Generate ad-hoc reports on QuickBooks Online as needed
• Digital filing and administration of accounting records, reports, and other paperwork

Qualifications :

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferred
• Three years or more experience working on end-to-end accounts payable processes
• Well versed with and a proven track record in handling standard A / P concepts, practices and procedures
• Skilled Microsoft Office Suite user
• Proficient in Excel and QuickBooks Online
• Full charge bookkeeping experience is a plus.
• Possesses strong and effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to provide clear direction when troubleshooting issues and providing answers to A / P questions.
• Position requires experience and / or comfort when verbally communicating with varying levels of staff, management, officials and executives
