Electrical Designer (AutoCAD and EPLAN Proficiency Required)
As an Electrical Designer, you will be responsible for creating essential documentation for the manufacturing of industrial ultrasonic welding machines. This role requires strong expertise in 2D CAD electrical drawings using AutoCAD Electrical, as well as experience in creating BOMs (Bills of Materials), cable summaries, and associated diagrams and manuals. You will collaborate closely with electrical engineers, electricians, and external contractors for the construction of control panels and junction boxes. Additionally, you will work with the mechanical engineering team to integrate pneumatics into the electrical design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed electrical schematics and 2D industrial control panel layouts.
- Create and manage Bills of Materials (BOMs), wiring, and cable reports.
- Collaborate with the electrical department and vendors for control panel construction.
- Assist electricians with design-related updates and inquiries.
- Maintain and organize the CAD library, ensuring integration with the purchasing system.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Associate's degree in an electrical-related field, or equivalent experience with a high school diploma.
- Proven expertise in designing single-line diagrams for electromechanical systems.
- Proficiency in 2D Electrical CAD tools, particularly AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN.
- Experience in power distribution design, including systems from 480VAC 3-phase to 240/120VAC and 24VDC.
- Ability to select appropriate wire sizes and overcurrent protection devices based on design criteria.
- Familiarity with discrete and analog I/O components for PLC integration (typically Allen-Bradley).
- Knowledge of Ethernet/IP network design and its role in industrial schematics.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and production schedules.
- Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate with both production and engineering teams.
- Team-oriented mindset with effective communication skills.
