We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic East Coast Regional Sales Manager to join our team in Manhattan, New York City. The ideal candidate will focus on building strong relationships with design and lighting professionals while driving sales growth across the East Coast territory.

Position Overview

As the East Coast Regional Sales Manager, you will serve as a key representative for both Flexalighting North America and Axolight USA. This role requires a proactive individual skilled at cultivating and maintaining networks within the architectural, lighting, and interior design communities. You will be a trusted partner to specifiers, designers, and sales agencies, showcasing the unique value of our brands and fostering long-term partnerships that drive growth.

Key Responsibilities

Developing Strategic Relationships

  • Build and maintain a robust network of architects, lighting designers, and interior designers.
  • Serve as a trusted resource, providing technical expertise and creative solutions tailored to the needs of design professionals.

Sales Strategy and Execution

  • Design and implement targeted sales strategies to achieve revenue goals for both brands.
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities to deepen market penetration within the design and lighting communities.

Brand Advocacy and Training

  • Effectively present and position the portfolios of Flexalighting North America and Axolight USA, highlighting their distinct offerings.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, training sessions, and seminars to educate clients on our innovative lighting solutions using tools such as lighting samples, showroom displays, and creative engagement methods.

Collaboration

  • Partner with sales agencies to ensure consistent communication and representation of the brands in their respective markets.
  • Work closely with internal teams and local sales agencies to align sales efforts with product development and marketing initiatives.

Market Insights and Reporting

  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and client needs to guide strategic decisions.
  • Provide regular reports on sales performance and relationship development milestones.

Qualifications

Professional Background

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales or business development within the lighting, architecture, or design industries.
  • Proven track record of building and managing professional networks with designers and specifiers.
  • Familiarity with the specification sales process, including managing projects from concept to completion.
  • Experience with sales pipeline management and forecasting.
  • Strong ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders on complex projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met.

Technical Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of architectural and decorative lighting products, including technical and aesthetic applications.
  • Understanding of lighting systems, including LED technology, controls, and installations.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and certifications.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting architectural or lighting plans.
  • Proficiency in lighting design software such as AGi or Dialux is beneficial.
  • Strong analytical skills for interpreting sales data and market trends.

Interpersonal Skills

  • Exceptional communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Proven success in networking with high-level decision-makers in the design and architecture industries.
  • Active participation in industry organizations, trade shows, and design events (e.g., IES, IALD, IDA, AIA, NEWH, LightFair, LEDucation, etc.).
  • Customer-focused with a consultative approach to addressing client needs.
  • Skilled in resolving challenges diplomatically and effectively.

  • Creative thinker with the ability to present innovative lighting solutions tailored to unique design needs.
  • Self-motivated, results-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving industry.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across the East Coast to meet clients and attend industry events.

Education and Certifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, architecture, interior design, or a related field (preferred but not required).
  • Lighting Certified (LC) credential or other professional certifications are a plus.

Compensation and Commission Structure

In addition to a competitive base salary, this position offers a performance-based commission structure that rewards success and growth. Commission details will be discussed during the interview process and are designed to incentivize long-term client relationships and revenue expansion. Pay: $120,000.00 per year
