Job Description :
The Cloud Engineer is responsible for working with Flexential's largest customers to deliver technical services that support their unique IT requirements while serving as a trusted advisor to these customers. This senior position is an escalation point for support requests that exceed the boundaries of standard support teams and guides operations personnel in the planning and execution of customer projects that are within Flexential's scope of services.
The SCC Engineer will work in a geographically diverse team environment to ensure timely and accurate delivery of Flexential services in coordination with internal and third-party technical resources.
Key Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions :
Technical Oversight and Support
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) and final escalation point for customer environments, providing technical insights and recommendations to TAMs and FTS Customers.
- Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks and single points of failure within customer environments.
- Assist in root cause analysis (RCA) for major incidents and provide detailed technical resolutions.
Process Optimization
Recommend infrastructure and process improvements to optimize customer environments and operational efficiencies.Develop MOP (Method of Procedures) for repeatable and complex customer service requests and maintenance events.Create, update, and maintain customer-related infrastructure documentation (including Visio) to support fast problem resolution.Incident and Change Management
Monitor and manage alerts, change activities, and scheduled maintenance to minimize customer impact.Communicate effectively with TAMs and internal teams to address and resolve escalated support cases efficiently.Customer Collaboration and Advocacy
Collaborate closely with TAMs to deliver tailored solutions that meet customer objectives.Provide training and knowledge-sharing sessions for TAMs and customers as needed.Strategic Support
Maintain in-depth technical knowledge of Flexential product and service offerings.Participate in ongoing technical account audits and reviews to ensure alignment with customer business objectives.Contribute to custom reporting initiatives to provide actionable insights for customer environments.Required Qualifications :
Experience
Seven years experience in three or more of the following technical areas :Virtualization : VMware
Networking : Fortinet firewalls, Cisco routing & switching, VMware NSX (software-defined networking), MPLS, SD-WANDRaaS : ZertoStorage : NetappLinux : Red Hat, UbuntuOne or more major IT certifications : VCP, CCNP, or similar.Technical Expertise
Proficient in managing complex cloud environments, virtualization platforms, and related infrastructure.Strong understanding of disaster recovery (DR) concepts, including DR testing, Recovery Point Objective (RPO), and Recovery Time Objective (RTO). Capable of assisting customers in creating comprehensive disaster recovery plans.Experienced in managing multi-site network topologies, including LAN and WAN routing.In-depth knowledge of storage technologies and their integration into customer environments.Strong understanding of Flexential's product stack, including VMware and cloud solutions.Problem Solving and Analytical Skills
Exceptional troubleshooting skills, with the ability to quickly diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.Demonstrated ability to identify technical risks and implement proactive solutions to minimize customer impact.Collaboration and Communication
Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technical issues into actionable insights for TAMs and customers.Exceptional team player, working seamlessly with TAMs and cross-functional teams to achieve customer goals.Strategic Thinking
Proven ability to align technical solutions with customer business objectives, ensuring scalability, reliability, and operational excellence.Preferred Qualifications :
Automation & Scripting : Proficiency in automating tasks and configurations using PowerShell, Python, Ansible, or similar tools.ITIL Framework : Familiarity with ITIL principles for service management and incident resolution.Project Leadership : Demonstrated experience in leading technical projects and mentoring junior engineers.Advanced Networking : Deep knowledge of network security, advanced routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and next-generation firewall configurations.Cloud Expertise : Experience with public cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, including hybrid cloud implementations.Physical Requirements :

Base Pay Range : Annualized salary range offered for this position is estimated to be $88,400 - $115,100 However, the actual pay range depends on each candidate's experience, location, and qualifications.
Variable Pay : Discretionary annual bonus, based on personal and company performance.
