Summary/Objective:
Working Conditions:
- Primarily working indoors in a manufacturing environment.
- May stand for 8 or more hours at a time.
- Prolonged exposure to noise, machinery, forklifts, metal shavings, and slick floors.
- Repetitive use of hands.
- Exposure to and use of computers and other technical equipment.
Essential Functions:
- Develop and implement CMM programs
- Ensure product quality meets company and customer standards
- Investigate, document, and report on vendor/customer-related opportunities, nonconformances, and corrective actions.
- Provide appropriate blueprint change requests to the Engineering team
- Ensure compliance with all required safety policies and procedures
- Complete various paperwork requirements such as reports and checklists as needed
- Collaborate with cross-functional team members in production, quality, engineering, and other departments, as well as consultants from outside vendors when needed
Competencies:
- Established experience in CMM programming using PCDMIS, and proficiency in GD&T.
- Experience using calipers, micrometers, gages, and tape measure.
- Proficient communication in the English language through written and verbal methods.
- Ability to read and process written communication including, but not limited to: material specifications, frame prints, measurements, schedules, part prints.
- Self-starter who can succeed with limited supervision and/or direction.
- Great time management, solid organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Dependable team player.
Supervisory Responsibility:
This role does not have any supervisory responsibility upon hiring.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk and hear. The team member is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The position requires frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling objects that are 25 pounds. The team member may frequently be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time hourly position, and hours/days of work are decided by production schedules and the direct supervisor.
Travel:
No travel is required for this position.
Required Education and Experience:
- Minimum one year of related experience.
- Ability to read tape measure, micrometers, calipers, gauges, and optical comparators.
- Ability to speak, hear, and read the English language.
- Experience in gauge calibration and setup.
- High level understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
- Computer knowledge including experience with Microsoft Office and Minitab statistical software.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, customer specifications, and technical procedures.
- Solid understanding of PPAP, PFMEA, MSA, and Capability Studies.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Previous experience with Zeiss Calypso.
- Two or more years of related experience highly preferred.
- Certified/technical training.
- Experience creating and implementing standard work instructions.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance:
Must be able to pass E-Verify.
