Job Description

Ponchatoula, Louisiana : Flexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Foreman with experience in gas distribution and horizontal drilling. The Foreman will manage and oversee the activities of a team of operators, ensuring that all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company and industry standards.

Essential Duties :

Supervise and direct a team of Horizontal Drilling operators in the execution of gas distribution projects.
Ensure all work assignments are completed on schedule and to the satisfaction of the customer.
Monitor and enforce safety protocols on-site, including the use of personal protective equipment and adherence to traffic control measures.
Provide training and mentorship to operators, demonstrating proper techniques and ensuring that all team members are proficient in their roles.
Coordinate the delivery and use of materials, tools, and equipment needed for work assignments.
Serve as the primary point of contact between the operators and project management, providing regular updates on progress and any issues encountered.
Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with company and industry standards, addressing any deficiencies as needed.
Assist with job planning, including site preparation, safety setups, and coordination of heavy equipment.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, including safety documentation and project logs.

Requirements / Skills :

Must have significant experience in Horizontal and Directional Drilling operations and gas distribution.

Strong leadership skills with experience supervising a team in a utility or construction environment.

Possess a valid Class D driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record; CDL license is highly encouraged.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting maps, diagrams, and work orders.

Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met.

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues on-site.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both team members and customers.

Proficient in the use of technology devices such as computers and smartphones for work documentation.

Must be safety-oriented, with a strong understanding of safety protocols and the ability to enforce them among the team.

Physical Requirements :

Must work outdoors in adverse weather conditions.

Must have the ability to lift up to 75 lbs.; frequent walking, reaching, pushing, pulling, bending, squatting, stooping, crawling, standing, digging, climbing; works on uneven terrain, many times with heavy vegetation.

Must possess manual dexterity, good eyesight, and hearing, and the ability to use breathing apparatus when responding to gas leaks.

Ability to work extended hours and travel as required (greater than 75%).
