Piping Designer
Overview : Location : Lafayette, LAFlexicrew Technical Services (FTS) is seeking a Piping Designer to join our team. This is a full-time, office-based position with occasional site visits required.Essential Duties : Interpret and apply design guidelines and criteria to create systems designs.Adapt to client drafting standards and specifications for assigned projects.Ensure constructability, operability, and maintainability within project designs.Provide efficient, cost-effective technical input for project designs.Prepare detailed design drawings based on engineering requirements and deliverables.Offer guidance to drafters on assigned projects.Collaborate with the Lead Designer to ensure smooth, accurate, and timely project deliverables.Maintain a comprehensive Job Data Book for all pertinent design phase information.Regularly review drawings for completeness, quality, and adherence to standards.Perform checks and backchecks on all drawings for assigned projects.Prepare and oversee the preparation of final drawing plots and transmittals for deliverables.Maintain awareness of project schedules and budgets.Assist with project audits when required.
Requirements / Skills : High School Diploma or GED.5 years of professional experience in piping design.Proficiency in AutoCAD.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Self-motivated, creative, organized, and solution-oriented.Attention to detail.Authorization to work in the U.S. for any employer.
Preferred Experience : Associate’s degree in CAD, Design, or Drafting.Experience with CADWorx and / or Plant 3D.
Physical Requirements : Office environment with sedentary work.Occasional travel for site visits.
