Position Summary:
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Furniture Designer with a strong background in furniture or garage system design. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of hands-on design experience and a passion for developing innovative, market-ready products. This role is based on-site in our Irvine, California office, where you’ll collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, supply chain, and marketing teams to bring products from concept to launch.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop innovative furniture or garage storage products from concept through production.
- Conduct trend research and market analysis to identify opportunities and inform design direction.
- Create detailed 2D and 3D renderings, CAD drawings, and prototypes for presentation and development.
- Collaborate with the R&D and engineering teams to ensure design feasibility and production efficiency.
- Participate in materials selection and liaise with suppliers to ensure quality and cost targets are met.
- Assist in managing product life cycles, including improvements and updates to existing designs.
- Support marketing and merchandising teams with product visuals and specifications.
- Evaluate market performance of designs and adjust features or designs based on customer feedback and sales data.
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (required).
- 2 years of experience in furniture design or garage/industrial product design.
- Proficient in CAD software, 3D modeling tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Rhino, SketchUp), and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating creative design thinking and product execution.
- Understanding of design for manufacturability and cost-effective production.
- Excellent communication and project coordination skills.
- Ability to work full-time on-site in Irvine, California (relocation required before start).
- Knowledge of material sourcing, construction techniques, and manufacturing processes is a plus.
