Position: Tax Preparer
Company: CPA Firm
Location: Mainly remote; must be local to MA with the ability to occasionally come into the Littleton office to pick up paperwork.
Job Type: Seasonal
Hours / Schedule: 40 hours/week January - April, plus overtime; OPTIONAL 8 hours/week May - December.
Rate: $40/hr-$55/hr based on experience
Job Description: Prepare primarily individual tax returns and potentially some business/entity tax returns.
- Prepare simple to complex federal and state income tax returns for individuals.
- Experience in preparing federal and state tax returns for entities and small businesses a plus but not required.
- Review financial records and supporting documentation to determine the information needed to prepare tax returns
- Act as a resource to and assist staff members
- Contribute to the client service team by producing quality work with quick turnaround and attentive service
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 3-4 years tax experience including experience preparing tax returns for individuals
- Experience with Quickbooks required.
- Experience in preparing federal and state tax returns for businesses and entities desirable, but not required
- Customer service focused with good people skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
- Experience with Lacerte a plus, but not required
- Organized and able to handle a sizable work-load, prioritize assignments and pay skillful attention to detail
