FlexStaff Careers is hiring a Buyer for our client, located in Suffolk County, Long Island. The ideal candidate will have direct buying experience with coating vendors, machining companies, and glass suppliers, particularly someone who has a proven track record in negotiating lead times and prices within the U.S. Given their crucial work with defense companies , the ideal candidate must have a strong background in managing domestic relationships effectively.

Please keep in mind that this position is 100% on-site, and therefore, you must live within the Long Island region to successfully commute daily. However, the role does include 20% travel as well, which will include travel to New Jersey and to Ohio.
Responsibilities :
- Work with a budget, negotiate pricing, contractual terms, and lead time
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
- Manage material inventory
- Approve the ordering of necessary goods and services
- Follow up and expedite orders when necessary
- Manage vendor relationships and performance
- Search for new vendors
- Prepare purchase orders, receiving and shipping paperwork
- Prepare Purchasing Department reports
Required Experience :
Base salary up to 95k
