Day Shift

- Under the direction of the Connections Supervisor, loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Reads Production Release Notices, material requests, Manufacturing Design Specifications or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers are properly issued, returned, staged, stored or moved. Opens containers as required.
- Assists in loading & unloading materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, & shelves by hand.
- Occasionally loads boxed, crated, or palletized materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
- Supports materials conveyance from or to storage, work sites or designated area, whenever instructed by MOS Team Lead.
- Assemble, clean, package end-fitting kits according to process and schedule.
- Must be Forklift and crane certified.
- Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled daily.
- Responsible for all data entry necessary to add, issue and/or return materials in ERP/ Visual.
- Ability to use tools or supplies to remove or prevent rust on steel.
- Lifts heavy objects by hand or with power hoist, and clean work area.
- At all times, must support manufacturing processes as needed to meet production goals.
- Accurately Cycle counts all materials, flanges and stub ends.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervision.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS

- Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of material handling preferred.
- Must have some knowledge of how to operate software programs including spreadsheets & word processing.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Must possess the ability to read and understand bills of materials and differentiate between parts that are similar in nature.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Must have ability to work effectively with company personnel and customers.
- Must be insurable by the company’s insurance carrier. Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must have regular attendance on the job.
- Must be able to operate and certify industrial forklift truck or electric hoist.
