What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cactus Wellhead - Payroll Clerk position at FlexSteel?
This is a Cactus Wellhead position and is located in Houston, TX.
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for maintaining associate records in the payroll system, administration of time and attendance, and various duties as related to processing of Compensation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complies with all quality, safety, health, environmental requirements, policies and procedures relevant to the position.
- Manage internal and external audits, 401K, Workers Compensation, and SOX.
- Weekly Reviews of all changes done by HR- ensuring company policy was followed.
- Taxable fringe benefits updates and maintenance including personal/business mileage reports, taxable travel and lodging, relocation, and phone allowance.
- Manage Child support and garnishments.
- Perform Employment verifications
- Process manual checks
- Assist with Time Clock issues
- Assist employees with questions related to payroll as needed
- Any other tasks needed to help with payroll processing.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, EXPERIENCE: High School, some college or other technical certification. Two years of work experience.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Payroll Certifications preferred
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
- Ability to work in a fast paced, team environment with integrity and attention to detail is a must.
- Intermediate Excel skills, v-lookup and pivot tables preferred
- Solid experience with Microsoft Office Suite, especially excel.
- Data entry skills with a high degree of accuracy.
- Intermediate mathematical and reasoning skills.
- Ability to build and manage effective relationships with internal team and members of management.
- Strong Organization skills are required.
- Knowledge of payroll states compliance regulation and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX)
