What are the responsibilities and job description for the Entry Level Oilfield Mechanic position at FlexTek Resources?
Reporting to the Iron Shop Foreman, this position will support all job functions of the Iron Shop in a controlled environment. Iron shop personnel are responsible for servicing and recertifying oil and gas production and flowback equipment in house.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow standard operating procedures for maintenance and recertification for fittings, manifolds, and iron.
- Clean and perform post job inspection on temporary flow line equipment. Inspect for damaged or failed parts, or anything out of date.
- Manage pressure testing up to 15,000 psi of iron for annual recertifications.
- Tear down and rebuild choke manifolds and junk catchers.
- Perform valve maintenance. Disassemble various types of valves, involving cleaning out, inspecting for erosion, and rebuilding.
- Perform maintenance on hammer union connections.
- Perform hands on mechanical functions, grinding, cleaning, minor repairs.
- Complete all tasks needed in the rebuild area and pressure test area.
- Identify all characteristics of all types of high-pressure parts (i.e., pressure rating, size, manufacture, union type, serial number, asset number)
- Identify the differences between all levels of inspection and recertification (i.e., visual, LEVEL 1, LEVEL2)
- Operate Forklifts to move equipment or materials to and from storage and repair area.
- Complete daily job safety analysis documents each morning with the iron shop team.
- Understands and follows the recertification band color code.
