Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Kansas City, MO. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in mechanical design and analysis, with a strong background in SolidWorks and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Candidates with experience in wiring diagrams and hands-on work with mobile equipment or automotive systems are highly encouraged to apply, although these qualifications are not mandatory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, and optimize mechanical components and systems using SolidWorks and other CAD tools.
- Conduct FMEA to identify potential failure modes, evaluate risks, and recommend corrective actions.
- Interpret and apply GD&T principles for accurate and effective designs.
- Create and review technical documentation, including detailed drawings, wiring diagrams (preferred), and specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical, manufacturing, and quality engineers, to ensure seamless integration and functionality of designs.
- Support prototype builds, testing, and validation activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues throughout the product lifecycle.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, standards, and best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 4 years of experience as an Engineer
- Proven experience with FMEA, SolidWorks, and GD&T.
- Familiarity with wiring diagrams (preferred but not required).
- Hands-on experience with mobile equipment or automotive systems is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
