We are a leading structural steel design and erection company seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team in Houston, TX. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing multiple projects from design to completion, ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and exceptional quality.
Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager with a strong background in structural steel design and erection. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in managing projects ranging from 50-3,000 tons. The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the design, production, and erection of multiple projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and allocating resources to ensure timely completion
- Coordinate with design teams to ensure accurate and efficient design development, including reviewing and approving designs, and ensuring compliance with relevant codes and regulations
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure efficient fabrication and delivery of steel components
- Oversee the erection process, ensuring that all safety protocols are followed, and that the project is completed to the required quality standards
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans
- Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues, developing contingency plans as needed
- Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members to ensure that project goals and objectives are met
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and ensure compliance with safety protocols
- Review and approve project documentation, including designs, drawings, and reports
- Ensure that all projects are completed in accordance with company policies, procedures, and industry standards
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field is desirable, but we will look at relevant experience in lieu of a degree
- Minimum 2 years of experience in structural steel design and erection project management
- Proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong knowledge of structural steel design and erection principles, including relevant codes and regulations (e.g. AISC, AWS, OSHA)
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple deadlines
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct cross-functional teams
- Proficiency in project management software, including scheduling and budgeting tools (e.g. Primavera, MS Project, Excel)
- Familiarity with design and drafting software (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit) is an asset
